Youth Involvement
The next generation of givers is already in York County. We actively recruit and mentor young people to serve alongside us — turning volunteers into leaders and neighbors into lifelong community builders.
Why Youth
The habit of giving starts young
AnnMarie started GH4BF because she saw kids in York County going without. But she also saw something else: young people in this community who wanted to help — they just needed someone to show them how.
We create real volunteer opportunities for teens and young adults: showing up to drives, leading their peers, doing the physical work of sorting, packing, and delivering supplies. Not busy work. Actual service.
The young people who volunteer with us aren't just helping today — they're building a muscle for generosity that stays with them. That's how York County grows a culture of care that outlasts any single drive.

Youth volunteers are an equal part of our team — they do real work and get real credit for it.
How It Works
Ways young people serve with us
Drive Volunteers
Young people join our Back to School and Holiday Toy Drive events — sorting supplies, loading bags, greeting families, and keeping things moving.
Youth Ambassadors
Older teens take on ambassador roles, helping recruit their peers, promote drives on social media, and represent GH4BF at community events.
School & Church Groups
We partner with youth groups, church programs, and school clubs to coordinate group volunteer days that count toward service hours.
Community Outreach
Youth volunteers help spread the word in their own networks — reaching families we might not otherwise connect with through word-of-mouth.
Acts of Kindness Crew
Young people participate in our year-round kindness efforts — delivering supplies, helping with community events, and showing up when neighbors need support.
Leadership Development
We invest in young volunteers by giving them real responsibility, honest feedback, and the chance to grow into the next generation of community leaders.
For Students
Service hours & letters of recommendation
We document all volunteer hours and can provide official letters confirming service for school, scholarship, and college applications. Reach out after volunteering and we'll take care of it.
Request documentation →We welcome youth groups, school organizations, and church youth programs for group volunteer days. One email gets your group on the schedule.
Schedule a group day
Email us at info@gh4bf.org with your group name, size, and available dates. We'll set it up.
